I think teenage Lottie was lucid enough to understand that the power of the wilderness stuff had gone too far and that she hated being used as the girls scapegoat and forced into a leadership position she never wanted so she passed leadership over to Nat, who was always the most logical and who always fought against the supernatural elements and actually kept them alive with her hunting abilities. Lottie figured Natalie would be their best chance at survival and that she wouldn’t let them take the supernatural beliefs too far so Lottie just used the whole “wilderness saved Nat because she was meant to lead” as a way to get the group to follow and believe in Nat in hopes that her leadership would put a stop to the hunting and cannibalism and take the burden off Lottie

Plagiarism

The account @/BriiiiGon_za_lez on Wattpad is translating full tumblr fics from various fandoms into Spanish without permission or credit to the original tumblr authors. They also stole a fic of mine so I’m assuming none of the other fics are approved for reposting and translation by the original writers. I can’t remember the original writers of any of the specific fics I recognise but the description of the work on Wattpad is this:

I don’t know if the Twisters casting director was thinking this deeply about the casting, but part of me wants to believe that the reason why Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos were cast was because of typecasting. Or, in this case, quasi-against-type casting.

Because a major part of the movie is the double twist that Tyler is actually a good guy trying to raise money for people affected by the tornadoes while Javi is actually working for a real estate mogul who wants to take advantage of tornado victims. So to sell the double-turn, casting is key here.

From what I’ve seen of the actors, Glen is pretty good at playing the jerk based on Top Gun: Maverick while Anthony has that likable persona about him that stems from his roles in Hamilton. I want to believe that the casting director thought the same way. Use the actors’ typecasting to throw off the audience’s expectations.

I’ll say this. Tyler Owens’ turn would not be anywhere near as effective if someone like Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth played him. Along the same lines, Javi’s turn would not be anywhere near as effective if someone like Tony Revolori (Flash from the MCU Spiderman movies) played him.

Ok so someone has probably pointed this out before but i just thought of this after i saw this screen cap

poppies symbolize “sleep,peace,and death”

you can extract 0pium from them which is a sedative which could also symbolize how jackie kinda drifts off to sleep and into death

the red of the poppy also can symbolize blood

which leads me into another point

the fact that jackie sort of wears a “crown of thorns” during doomcoming could be religious symbolism (jesus wearing the crown of thorns when he’s crucified)

the relationship between jackie and shauna could also call parallels between judas betraying jesus (shauna hooking up with jeff and her basically making jackie sleep outside in the snow being the catalyst for her death)

while they are cann!balizing her they also shown having a feast and drinking wine which could show this as a sort of communion (with an actual body and blood and not just wine and bread)

nat also talks about how maybe jackie died so that they could live which could also be religious symbolism with “jesus dying for our sins” type of thing

when they find jackie the next morning with them mourning over her body (lamentation of christ)

and a big one is them burning her body as a burial but the “woods” putting out the fire with snow and giving them food (the resurrection)

also i’m not religious and never have been (i just read wikipedia a lot and have an interest in art history and religious symbolism can be very interesting)
